Job Description

Our client is a global law firm and has been practicing for over 100 years. They seek a 2 nd , 3 rd, or 4 th year associate to join its Restructuring Team in NYC. (Working hybrid out of their mid-town NYC location).

They have an international reputation and the team is known for representing debtors, second creditors, trustees, ad hoc official committees in complex restructuring matters. They also have an emphasis of representation of clients before governmental agencies, successful advocacy in litigation and arbitration, and creative and practical advice in structuring business transactions. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Work primarily with attorneys in the firm’s New York office, as well as, with the restructuring attorneys in other offices.
• The primary practice will be Insolvency & Restructuring.
•   The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of restructuring experience representing debtors, ad hoc and statutory committees, secured creditors, asset purchasers, and other constituents in connection with chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court restructurings, including cross border matters.
• Deposition and trial preparation experience are also helpful. Candidates must have a track record of academic and professional excellence, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and strong research, analysis, and writing capabilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a track record of insightful research and analysis, and persuasive writing abilities.
• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution is required. Admission to the New York Bar, active and in good standing, is also required
• The expected salary for this position is $235,000 - $310,000, depending on experience plus excellent benefits
