Job Description

Role & Responsibilities:

Shift Leaders are responsible for the successful execution of daily shift operations by ensuring a clean and safe environment, great food, fast and accurate service, and genuine hospitality. They prepare the restaurant for each shift, set up positions, and actively manage Team Member deployment throughout the shift to ensure proper coverage and efficiency. As the shift progresses, Shift Leaders adjust staffing as needed, run breaks, resolve guest concerns in the moment, and ensure all shift-related checklists are completed accurately.

Shift Leaders communicate post-shift staffing insights and challenges to the scheduler to support ongoing scheduling accuracy. They serve as hands-on leaders who coach, support, and train Team Members at all levels, from new hires to experienced Team Members and Trainers, helping each person perform at their best.

Shift Leaders represent and uphold the Owner/Operator’s vision, particularly in areas such as food quality, maintaining focus through the end of the shift, and ensuring staffing levels are balanced - avoiding both overstaffing and understaffing over time. When senior leadership is not present, the Shift Leader may serve as the Person in Charge (PIC) and assume full responsibility for restaurant operations.

As restaurant leaders, Shift Leaders may participate in Team Member evaluations and attend Shift Leader meetings as appropriate. They also track, analyze, and communicate key shift performance metrics, including daypart speed of service, car count, and shift reflections. Shift Leaders are expected to remain flexible and willing to perform additional duties as needed to best serve guests, support Team Members, and ensure operational excellence.

Pay Rate: $21/hr for training period, up to $22 after performance evaluation

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong people skills with a desire to serve Team Members
  • Strong commitment to superior customer service and food safety
  • Ability to manage Team Member behavioral and performance issues
  • Ability to work in a team environment with shared ownership and responsibility
  • Prior experience as shift lead, crew lead, supervisor, team lead, restaurant manager, restaurant assistant manager is not required but is preferred.
  • 2 PM - 11 PM availability required, open availability preferred
  • Applicants must be capable of physically demanding tasks, including, but not limited to: lifting 30-50lbs, lifting above the head, repetitive motion, and standing for extended periods of time.
