Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include coordinating all member events to maximize member engagement; building sponsor relationships; managing member and public communication, social media, and marketing strategies; and contributing to GuildSomm’s growth and financial goals.

Event Management (50%)
•  Manage planning and logistics for all GuildSomm seminars and events
•  Collaborate with team and sponsors to coordinate member event objectives and details
•  Coordinate deliverables with sponsors, vendors, and instructors
•  Promote events through compelling website copy, email, and marketing campaigns
•  Manage and track ticket sales
•  Oversee venue and wine shipping logistics
•  Review and edit final presentation documents and coordinate sponsor approval
•  Identify opportunities, potential partnerships, and creative solutions to continually update and enhance GuildSomm’s event offerings
•  Manage planning and logistics for annual member events, such as the GuildSomm Symposium and events in partnership with key sponsors

Marketing & Communication (30%)
•  Develop marketing and promotional materials, including digital, print, and swag giveaway items, to increase awareness and member engagement
•  Build and maintain media assets to promote GuildSomm to sponsors, partners and members
•  Publicize content and events on social media, newsletters, forum, and app, and to select media outlets
•  Write creative marketing copy for email and text messaging campaigns
•  Partner with Membership Coordinator on communication campaigns for new, current, lapsed, and prospective members
•  Partner with Membership Coordinator for shared email responsibilities, as needed
•  Collaborate with Editor and Communications Manager to develop and execute GuildSomm’s communications strategy across different platforms, including analysis, reporting, and optimization

Social Media (20%)
•  Plan and execute regular, compelling content for GuildSomm’s social media channels
•  Manage social media presence, responding to questions and interactions, to drive community growth
•  Utilize social media channels to convert followers into new GuildSomm members
•  Oversee social media advertising and paid marketing efforts, such as Google Ads
•  Use analytics to measure and report on impact and inform strategies

May perform additional duties as asked or needed by the company

Minimum Qualifications:
•  Detail-oriented and self-motivated
•  Strong organizational and project management skills
•  Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
•  Experience in event planning, often multiple at a time
•  Robust understanding of MailChimp and various email marketing platforms and tools
•  Experience building and running marketing campaigns, including drip campaigns
•  Experience evaluating and reporting on marketing metrics
•  Social media savvy
•  Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Google Analytics, Dropbox, Monday, Slack
•  Graphic design skills a plus
•  Coding skills a plus
•  Basic understanding of wine industry preferred
•  Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
