Must hold a certificate issued by Oklahoma State Department of Education.
The certificate position area must be in one of the following areas: Band, Chorus/Vocal, Music (General), Music Therapy, Orchestra.
The certificate must be in one of the following grades: 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The certificate status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.
Position: Middle School / High School Choir Director District: Newcastle Public Schools Location: Newcastle, Oklahoma
Job Summary: Newcastle Public Schools is seeking a qualified and dedicated Middle School/High School Choir Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing vocal music classes at both the middle school and high school levels and may be assigned additional courses or responsibilities as needed. This position requires strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills, along with a demonstrated commitment to student growth and program development.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
Teaching middle school and high school choir courses
Planning and directing performances, events, and competitions
Creating and implementing instructional plans aligned with district standards
Maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment
Communicating effectively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators
Performing other duties as assigned by administration
Qualifications:
Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with appropriate music certification (or ability to obtain)
Prior teaching and/or directing experience preferred
