As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in assisting teachers and supporting students with their educational needs. Your efforts will be crucial in providing a nurturing environment for students to thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities
- Provide individualized support to students, ensuring they stay engaged and focused
- Help manage classroom behavior and promote a positive learning environment
- Support the execution of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collect data and assist in assessments as required
- Collaborate with educational staff to continually enhance student learning experiences
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree or higher in Education or a related field is preferred
- Experience working with children, especially in a special education context, is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A capacity for teamwork and collaboration with teachers and support personnel
- Empathy, patience, and a strong desire to empower students in their learning journey
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies is an asset
