Responsibilities:

• Supervise technicians’ daily activities and assignments
• Oversee technician performance during concrete placements on job sites
• Perform weekly air and slump testing on trucks and at plant locations verify that comparison cylinders are properly made on-site
• Collaborate with the Lab Manager to develop and execute mix designs
• Manage customer service requests (CSRs) and report findings to the Director of Technical Services and General Manager
• Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English
• Obtain DOT Batch Man and DOT Technician certifications within one year of hire
• Ability to understand and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Capable of preparing standard reports and business correspondence
• Strong verbal communication skills; able to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees
• Proficient in complex mathematical applications, including:
• Probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry
• Fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
• Ability to solve practical problems and address a variety of variables in non-standardized situations
• Able to understand instructions in written, verbal, diagrammatic, or schedule formats
• Proficient in computer applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, graphics, database management, and internet tools

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field i.e Quality Assurance
• Frequent walking and standing for extended periods
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
• Frequent kneeling, stooping, and crawling as required by job tasks
• Environmental Conditions
• Must be able to tolerate, with or without accommodation:
• Exposure to extreme weather conditions
• High noise levels and significant vibrations from construction equipment and job site activities
• Possible exposure to potentially toxic or hazardous materials, including cement lime, concrete admixtures, dust, diesel fuel, and other related chemicals
