Senior Communications Officer

Are you a storyteller at heart—someone who sits in a meeting, hears a spark of an idea, and immediately thinks, “There’s a great story here, and I know how to tell it”?If so, we’d love to meet you.

The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut is seeking a  Senior Communications Officer to elevate our mission of creating a healthy, thriving, sustainable region. In this role, you’ll shape how we share stories of community impact, engage donors and partners, and highlight the voices of the people we serve.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and lead communications strategy
  • Create compelling content across print, digital, and social platforms
  • Manage the Annual Report, newsletters, press materials, and media outreach
  • Oversee website content and email communications
  • Collaborate with program and development staff to support events and initiatives
  • Coordinate designers, photographers, and other vendors

We are looking for someone with:

  • 5–8 years of communications/marketing experience
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Proficiency with digital tools, WordPress, and basic design software
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills
  • Passion for community impact and mission-driven work
