Marine Dock Operator

Port Arthur, TX

PSC Group is seeking a Dock Operator to join our team! This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently and outdoors around the waterways. The Dock Operator serves as the person-in-charge of the dock and assists the Tankerman with the safe transfer of oil products and chemicals to and from barges and/or ships. Work Schedule

  • On-Call: This position will travel locally to different chemical plants / refineries working a 24-hour variable on-call schedule

Pay Range: Starting at $21.00 with opportunity for advancement

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Meets with the person-in-charge of the vessel and communicates with facility personnel
  • Maintains detailed dock logs to ensure all events are recorded in chronological order
  • Operates crane, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical equipment, and manual / motor operated valves
  • Understands the facility piping layout to transfer the proper product
  • Gauges barge and retrieves sample of product from vessel
  • Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job.

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience is a plus but not required, and paid on-the-job training is available
  • May require a valid Driver’s License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
