PARK MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR – CENTRAL DIVISION / CENTRAL VALLEY DISTRICT / COLUMBIA STATE HISTORIC PARK
The reporting location for this position is Columbia State Historic Park in Columbia, CA. This position will work under the direction of Park Maintenance Chief I.
The Park Maintenance Supervisor (PMS) will supervise permanent maintenance staff, seasonals and special program crews. This position is a great fit for someone who is interested in learning in detail many of the Department’s program components: historic structures repair, contracting and purchasing processes, environmental review process, budgeting and project oversight, state housing, and concessions. The Park Maintenance Supervisor supervises the facilities maintenance, housekeeping, and resource programs within Columbia SHP, which includes 54 residential houses, 154 historic buildings, and 24 concession buildings. The park is part of the Columbia community, and the PMS helps with community relations by keeping facilities in top condition. The incumbent plans, directs, and reviews the maintenance of all buildings, structures, roads, trails and systems.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR 599.962 .

Special Requirement/Condition of Employment: Depending on the assigned location, the incumbent may be required to occupy state-owned housing to meet operational needs or may be offered state-owned housing if available. Housing assignments will be determined in accordance with Department policy, operational priorities, and applicable labor agreements.
