Basic Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Bachelors degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

Clearance Requirements:
Department of Defense security clearance is not required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an opening for a Senior Advanced Contracts Specialist in Dedham, MA.

Duties and Tasks:

  • A senior level advanced position in contract management
  • Administers contracts and monitors contract performance
  • Acts as focal point for all contractual communications and commitments to customers
  • Maintains documentation and files in accordance with applicable processes
  • Assures compliance with applicable federal regulations and internal policies and procedures
  • Participates as a key member of the proposal or program team to address contract requirements.
  • Collaborates with the Capture/Proposal/Program Manager, to support overall contract performance
  • Reviews Requests for Proposals and participates in preparing compliant proposal responses
  • Negotiates contracts or subcontracts within business goals and documents substance of discussions, agreements, and results; Negotiates terms and conditions including estimated cost/price, delivery, quality, and performance requirements
  • Reviews contract documents for accuracy, performance risk, and conformance with contract terms, conditions, and other provisions including applicable federal regulations and business team objectives prior to signature / acceptance
  • Collaborates as a key member of program team to ensure contract requirements are fully understood and executed
  • Responds to internal and external inquiries regarding contract issues, audits, and compliance requirements
  • Manages contract change process and works with the Program Manager, Engineering, Finance, and other disciplines to mitigate performance risk
  • Advises and supports business team on issues / developments relative to assigned contracts
  • Monitors program performance for scope changes and takes appropriate action
  • Builds customerrelationships and knows customer needs and issues
  • Supports an overall understanding of the Contracts Department operations and GDMS enterprise objectives

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Has wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve detailed issues in effective ways
  • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise
  • Demonstrates creative, innovative approaches and solutions to contract or subcontract issues and problems utilizing very strong decision-making skills
  • Excellent ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle more detailed problems
  • Shows initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment
  • Demonstrates excellent knowledge of applicable federal regulations (FAR/DFARS) and contracting experience with prime contractors as well as all contract types. Strong knowledge of Government Data Rights and Intellectual Property protection.
  • Has experience reviewing and analyzing contract or subcontract documents for accuracy, performance risk, and conformance with contract terms, conditions, and other provisions
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with personnel at all levels
  • Demonstrates excellent strong analytical/critical thinking skills
  • Possesses an excellent attention to detail and research skills
  • Is able to prioritize/re-prioritize with changing goals
  • Collaborates and works effectively cross-functionally throughout the business
  • Possesses excellent computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office) to support effective communications and business needs

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $140,904.00 - USD $148,000.00 /Yr.
