PRINCIPAL, MATERIALS COSTING & PACKAGING STRATEGIC PORTFOLIO

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

This role sits within Nike’s Materials Supply Chain organization. You will report to the Sr Director, Materials Costing & Packaging as a member of that leadership team, along with functional leaders of the Apparel & Accessories Materials Costing, Footwear Materials Costing, Global Packaging, and Commodities, Capabilities & Reporting team. You will work with your manager and colleagues to develop, prioritize and support the Strategic Portfolio.

You will partner and engage with leaders and members of Materials Supply Chain and Product Supply Chain functional teams, Product Costing & Finance teams and Product and Materials Development teams, including Functional & Chemical Engineering teams for FW.

Key qualifications:

  • Openness and ability to work, based locally in Beaverton, OR
  • 7+ years of experience in Operations Management, Sourcing & Manufacturing, Project Management, or Strategic Planning
  • Deep familiarity with the intersection of Product Creation, Supply Chain and Finance in the footwear, apparel and accessories/equipment industry
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training
  • Proven ability to think strategically, drive clarity through ambiguity, and then translate strategies into actionable plans; Expertise in leading cross-functional teams through dynamic planning processes
  • Strong business partner relationship management skills and proven ability to work with team members across functions, geographies and at all levels through an open, engaging, and collaborative style
  • Skilled at planning, organizing, prioritizing, and performing simultaneous projects and activities. Project /change management experience preferred
  • Technology exposure – through direct management or deployment familiarity – preferred
  • Excellent executive-level communication skills, including the ability to synthesize and simplify quantitative/qualitative information into impactful materials
  • Experience working in a global environment – across cultures, countries, time-zones – and across a matrixed organization.

As our Principal, Materials Costing & Packaging Strategic Portfolio , you are responsible for the advancement of our materials costing & packaging functional capabilities in support of our strategic objective to Drive Profitable Growth.

You’ll lead the development of a functional roadmap for materials costing and packaging, driving initiatives that transform processes and deliver sustainable value. Your work will shape operational approaches, influence investment decisions, and ensure alignment across global teams.

Core responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic deployment efforts for Costing & Packaging, defining priorities and sequencing initiatives into a functional roadmap
  • Establish KPIs for team and portfolio performance
  • Build business and use cases to secure resources and investments through annual planning cycles
  • Lead and manage specific high-value initiatives and external engagements, leveraging functional experience and supporting through project management, process design, change mgmt. as needed.
  • Drive operational change and new ways of working with functional leaders
  • Socialize Strategic Portfolio and communicate progress with broader leadership and stakeholders to drive alignment and confidence
